Dear Parish Families,
Teachers and Catechists are called to be missionary disciples. Our Christmas mission is to enter into the reality of the Incarnation by accompanying our students and their families in a close and meaningful way during this Christmas season. The Incarnation challenges us to be aware that even during the Christmas holidays, children and their families are often in distress.
St. Ignatius would suggest that we not just pray for them, but listen to them, walk with them in their joys and sorrows, and assist them in any way we can. Christmas is joyous but can also be overwhelming for our students. Our “prayer in action” can be as simple as being attentive to the student who seems very quiet or overly boisterous. They might be carrying a heavy burden. Any student might be worried about family matters or personal problems.
Let the Incarnation draw us into closeness with others. Let this be our Christmas mission.
