It is hard to believe October is already here! The school year is busy, busy, busy for all!
Pet Blessing - October 4th
In observance of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 4
th all students will attend the Blessing of Pets Ceremony. Due to the work on the church steeple and windows there will continue to be large equipment outside the church. Father Joe will bless your family pets at the sand volleyball court from 2:35-3:00. You may bring your family pet to school and park in the lot near the sand volleyball area. Please don’t get into the pick-up line until after your pet has been blessed. You may take your child (ren) with you, once you’ve made their teacher(s) aware. Students may draw a picture of a pet, or bring in a photo for Father to bless as an alternative.
Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima Apparition - October 13th
Included in this week’s folder is a permission slip for grades
3rd-8th to walk to the Riverfront. October 13th is the 100
th anniversary of the Sixth Apparition of Our Lady at Fatima. Our students will honor Mary and reflect on the message at Fatima. Please take some time as a family to pray the Rosary together. This will give your student the confidence they need by October 13th! If your child needs a rosary, please let us know!
You’ll also find a Medical form included in this week’s folder. Please complete it giving specific details regarding allergies, medical conditions and other information pertinent to your child's health and well-being. As allergies become more and more prevalent, we can’t be too careful. Your time and effort to complete and return the form to your child's homeroom teacher by Friday, October 6th is appreciated. This form does not have to be signed by the doctor.
