Kristie grew up in Washington and has always been a member of the SFB Parish. She attended St. Francis Borgia Grade School. She and her husband Curt both attended St. Francis Borgia Regional High School as well. Kristie and Curt have two children, Grant and Reagan. She loves to spend time with her family, including her two golden retrievers, Madison and Truman and their rabbit, Riley.
Kristie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Minor in Management at Southeast Missouri State University. She then obtained her Master of Science degree in Education in Counseling. She went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor. Kristie works in the local schools in the Franklin County area through Catholic Family Services as a Clinical Therapist. She assists children and adolescents with a variety of issues such as; anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD, grief, social skills, relationship issues, children of divorce, crisis intervention, as well as helping with behavioral concerns in the school setting.
Consulting with teachers and staff is also part of her role, not only to identify at risk students but to improve the success of students in the classroom. She also utilizes her license in the office setting as a Clinical Therapist, working with clients ranging from young children to the adult population, as well as EAP clients. Her areas of therapeutic focus also include; anxiety, depression, school related issues, divorce, parenting, marital relationships, couples therapy, family therapy and PTSD. Kristie’s passion is counseling in the school environment so students can gain the skills and confidence they need to be successful in their classrooms and enjoy school.
