The Day of the Dead is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1 and 2, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and remember friends and family members who have died.

SFBGS Beta Club Coat Drive – Happening Now! SFBGS Beta Club Coat Drive is officially underway! All donations will stay right here in Franklin County, helping local families in need. We are accepting new or gently used coats for men, women, and children of all sizes. Students who donate a coat will receive a Dress Down Pass as a thank-you for their generosity. Let’s come together as a community to support those less fortunate and share the warmth this season!

Father God, we have no words. You know our hearts. Like many of you, we were deeply saddened to learn of the violence that occurred at a Catholic church in Minneapolis this morning. Archbishop Rozanski has released a statement urging us to come together in prayer and take meaningful action. You can find his message below. "It is with great sorrow that we mourn an unthinkable shooting that has extinguished at least two young lives, injured others who worshipped with them, and inflicted great emotional harm on the Annunciation Church community in Minneapolis. The loss of any human life at the hands of another is a great tragedy, and yet, this sorrowful act of violence hits especially close to home for those who care for children. I ask the Faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Louis to join me in praying fervently for divine guidance as our country mourns this loss of life, and I pray in a special way that we may come together in the wake of this tragedy."

This workshop is mandatory for anyone who volunteers with children or vulnerable adults in any capacity, including but not limited to: Classroom helpers Sports and scouting programs Cafeteria, library, and playground volunteers Children’s Liturgy of the Word School parties and field trips Cleaning crew and groundskeepers Divine Mercy home visits and Eucharistic ministers for the homebound PSR, preschool, and Vacation Bible School helpers ACTS retreat organizers Wedding coordinators and mystery readers Home and School activities Maintenance, IT staff, and Knight Watch Quilters, roundtable participants, and food pantry helpers If you do not have computer access, hard copy paperwork is available in the parish office. We are THANKFUL beyond explanation for the VERY BEST teachers around! God of Love, Thank you for every teacher who notices a child’s special gift. Thank you for teachers who are listeners and gentle guides. Thank you for teachers who expect much and love enough to demand more. Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers. God of Mercy, Sustain teachers who give everything they have. Strengthen teachers who assume the blame for so many problems beyond their control. Help exhausted teachers rest. God of Strength, Encourage teacher to care and inspire them to nourish. Motivate teachers to keep on learning for the fun of it and to make learning enjoyable for children. We wonder at teachers who know how to quiet a class of five-year-olds or help fourth-graders be empathetic. We admire teachers who enjoy middle school writers, or teach physics or math of history. Bless the people who are expected to accomplish these miracles and who know how to comfort children when miracles don’t happen. The 4th-grade class was in for a treat when Timmy stopped in early this week. Monday, he flew into their class with gobbles, giggles, and silly sass. It looks to us that they all had great fun. another class on Tuesday, who'll be the one? Come back and see us to find out where Timmy's travels will take him and who will be there?

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

Our excellent 5th-grade class has been working with Tools of Science and did our first Lab this week. It has been so much fun despite the loud factor. It’s hard to contain such excitement working with Gummy Bears. What a great project! Yummy, too! Way to go, 5th Graders! Thank you, Mrs. Hopkins #borgiaproud
